DESIGN & PRODUCTION INTERN

Part-Time In Person Internship (PAID)

Calle Del Mar is seeking a thoughtful, highly organized and detail-oriented Design & Production Intern to join our team in Los Angeles. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to work closely with our Head of Design & Development, gaining insight into the full lifecycle of a luxury fashion collection specializing in knitwear—from concept and development to production and delivery.

 

Responsibilities:

·       Provide direct support to the Head of Design & Development on day-to-day design and production tasks

·       Assist in building and updating design boards for seasonal collections

·       Conduct Design Research where applicable 

·       Support the design team with CAD color-ups and other digital presentation needs

·       Attend and assist in fittings, taking detailed notes, updating tech packs and tracking garment corrections

·       Maintain and update yarn and sample inventories, ensuring all records are current and accurate

·       Organize and maintain swatch libraries and color/dip archives

·       Assist in maintaining sample inventory Check in new samples by photographing, weighing, and logging them into inventory systems.

·       Facilitate the transfer of samples to factories and assist with production handoffs as needed

·       Assist in preparing production materials such as yarn, notions, trims, and other supplies

 

Requirements:

·       Must be working towards a bachelor’s degree as a current Design Student at a fashion design school ideally enrolled in a 3rd or 4th year 

·       An interest in Knitwear, fashion design, product development, or production

·       Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) 

·       Light Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) 

·       Light understanding of how to spec a garment and build a tech pack

·       Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills

·       Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

·       Positive, collaborative attitude with a willingness to learn

·       Available 1-2 full days a week minimum
